We are back in Chico and it feels like we have been gone for a really long time. Chico is about 100 miles south of the half-way point (which I think is really cool). Being home & halfway through the trail inspires me to reflect.
This trail….has been such a HUGE GIFT. It has been so much more than I had imagined prior to starting this hike. There has been more physical, mental, and emotional challenge. There has been an incredible amount of stunning beauty. The hiking community has been more full, vibrant, diverse, and kind than I could have hoped for. The support from family, friends, and total strangers has been shocking! The life lessons- they continue to come. I knew I was going to learn and grow – but it has been so amazing to have this time to be introspective. And experiencing all this with Justin means so much more to me than I can express.
I am overflowing with gratitude for the ability to be doing this hike. I hope we are able to continue all the way to the end but I am learning more and more that that is not the point of this hike for me.
Here are some pictures from the last week or so…
