After 750 or so miles we got some visits on the trail from friends! We felt so lucky!!!!
First off, Matt and Rachelle hiked us in a resupply! They hiked over Kearsage Pass carrying our heaviest resupply; a new pair of shoes and an incredible amount of treats for us. Because they brought us in everything we needed and more we got to take a day off on the trail- which was an incredible treat!!!!
The next morning our friend Ethan hiked in. It was super special to have him join us because he was one of the first people I (Lil) ever went backpacking with. Ever since that time in Mammoth area I have felt like I had a home in the back-country. Ethan and I hadn’t been on another backpacking trip since- so it was time. His trail name became Topo Willy – because he has areas in the Sierras that he hasn’t been to memorized from staring at maps and he has a special love and relationship for the Sierras – as if he is Willy Wonka and they are his chocolate factory. We all had such a blast together and of coarse, the week went way too quick.
Then the lovely Leta (Sweets) and Beth(Guts) joined us! These two ladies brought so much joy, gratitude and adventure to the trail. It seemed as if they noticed every flower and treated every turn on the trail with excitement! They rocked it from Edison Lake until they left the trail in Tuolomne.
